Wet missed you in our Tribe Writers group last night.

I think you have touched on something very important. Whenever we are looking to establish our goals, and compare them to what we are going to have to give up or sacrifice to achieve them, the goal has to be bigger, more important, and more valuable.

Re: A world of fake truth

Clay, what a great article! You write very well and I'm glad to have connected with you in our Tribe Writers group.

I like the points you made, about people living life through a computer screen instead of through living it. As I've mentioned to you before, I love video games too. I enjoy games, movies and TV quite a lot.

Great job! Keep up the good work.

Re: Humble pride

Thanks for the comment, Phil.

It's funny. I'm usually a black-and-white guy, where one thing exists then something else can't. Maybe instead of a humility off/on switch, it's more of a dimmer where your humility shines brighter on some occasions than it does on others. Hmm....if humility shines brighter, is it really humility?

Thanks for the comment on the theme. Still a bit to be done here and there, but I'm happy with it so far.

Re: Humble pride

first, starting to like this new blog theme. clean and easy on the eyes while getting at the content. Nice work. Second, this is a great premise. Generally we are so black and white in our approach to most topics this is a fresh perspective. In our tendency to jump to thinking one trait cannot exist when the other is present may leave us open to attack. So, if we are seeing and experiencing growth in our character toward humility, it is interesting to note that the areas of life we may be success are strong while there may be areas in life we are obstinately proud. In one sense we are swimming in success, and the other drowning in sin. I will be thinking this one through for a while... (thanks)

Re: Foundations: a week in review

Thanks Laura! It seemed fairly tame to me. I didn't see it as critical enough honestly.

Technology definitely has its place. I'm dependent on it because it's my job. We can't let that technology rule us though.

Thanks for the kind word. I'm trying to do interesting, yet useful stuff here. I'll let the readers decide if it's good or not.

Re: Simplicity

Interestingly enough, I almost took this blog post down after receiving a criticism this morning that the post sounded too judgmental on the USA way of doing things. I decided to pray about it on our drive from San Pedro Sula to La Ceiba and see what came up ... your comment and another, along with an e-mail for more. Fascinating how the very same topic can cause such polarization in the same inbox :).

We certainly love and appreciate our technology, too. They are not caring what others think, but that they just want to sing to God.

Re: I don't enjoy this

Weather is just a part of me it seems. My community has taken up this practice. The first time they set them off, me, my girlfriend and even my dog were scared s***-less. As they were still going off I stepped out of our storm shelter and took a glance at the sky, high elevation rain clouds with a bit of thunder and hardly a breeze of wind. A few weeks later, there were high winds, heavy rain, deafening cracks of lightning for over an hour and not a peep from the sirens. I've taken your stance and simply started watching the radar on NOAA's web site and have bought a storm radio to listen to the weather service out of Paducah KY.

Re: What's in your back yard?

Thanks Frank!

Re: What's in your back yard?

Good stuff to ponder on Good Friday.
